VCARB is determined to do everything in power to help Daniel Ricciardo push ‘100 per cent’ in 2024
Lucas Peltier-USA TODAY Sports

Since the start of the 2024 season, Daniel Ricciardo has been struggling to pull out solid performances in the VCARB 01. His consistent failure to bring in points led to the speculations of his replacement, however, the team principal, Laurent Mekies has made it clear that there is no such plan but the team is actually working hard to help the Australian to drive better.

The team’s efforts in that direction were during the Chinese GP where the team gave a new chassis to the honey badger. However, their efforts were met with disappointment as towards the end of the race, Lance Stroll hit Daniel Ricciardo’s car from behind, and unfortunately, that ended both their outings.

With new updates coming in, VCARB has decided to work extra hard to help Ricciardo in a better way. While talking about the same, Mekies had the following to say.

What is important is that we are nailing a bit more, weekend after weekend, what we need to give him to make him able to push at 100 per cent. Laurent Mekies told: Racingnews365

Ricciardo only has a few races in his hands to prove his worth to the team, and the Chinese GP incident has only added to his misfortunes. His teammate, Yuki Tsunoda has already scored quite a few points this year. However, with a new chassis, Ricciardo has shown his potential and perhaps will be able to have a decent outing in Miami.

Daniel Ricciardo needs to beat Yuki Tsunoda to have a shot at Red Bull

As indicated earlier, Tsynoda has been the better driver at VCARB this year. All the points the team has scored have been because of him. According to Helmut Marko, Ricciardo will need to level up and perform better than his teammate if he wishes to have a shot at the 2025 Red Bull seat.

While speaking about the same, Marko had the following to add.

The challenge for him was that he clearly had to be faster than Yuki if he wanted to have any hope of winning the seat at Red Bull. That hasn't been the case so far, even if, as I said, it was close. We'll see how this develops. Helmut Marko via:   Kleine Zeitung.

In all five races so far this year, the Aussi was unable to score points, which has shed some negative light on him. Daniel Ricciardo will have to perform better in the upcoming races as the team is doing its best to provide him with everything he requires to perform. In order to at least maintain his seat in VCARB for the coming years, he will have to really up his game. The next few races will be extremely crucial for the eight-time Grand Prix winner.
